Auditor's Award

Business Manager Jim Teknipp and Director Steve Wood receive GOFA award in 2007.

Making Your Tax Dollars Count
The Heights Library was awarded the "Making Your Tax Dollars Count" award from the Auditor of State's office for their fiscal year 2005 audit. This is the most current FY award.

Fewer than five percent of all Ohio government agencies are eligible for the award based on the following criteria:

  • The entity must complete and submit a Comprehensive Annual Finacial Report;
  • There must be not findings or issues present in their most recent audit report;
  • There must be no other financial concerns involving the entity.

Auditor Mary Taylor said," The community should be proud of their commitment to making sure that each tax dollar is spent appropriately."

Northern Ohio Live Award
The newly renovated Lee Road Library won in the category of Historic Preservation/Adaptive Reuse in 2007.

City of Cleveland Heights Award
Awarded the library its 2007 Community Improvement Award for the renovation, expansion and improvement to the Lee Road Library and Cultural Arts Center.

Hennen's American Public Library Ratings

Hennen's American Public Library Ratings
Hennen's American Public Library Ratings, HAPLR (tm), attempt to identify the best public libraries in America. The HAPLR Index uses six input and nine output measures. The author added the scores for each library within a population category to develop a weighted score.

The HAPLR Index is similar to an ACT or SAT score with a theoretical minimum of 1 and a maximum of 1,000, although most libraries score between 260 and 730. Heights Library score: 875
