Summer Reading 2013

Each summer Heights Libraries has summer reading programs designed to bring everyone, ages 1 month to 100 years, into the library to experience the joys of reading, and this summer is no different. This year’s themes encourage deep thinking: We invite children to “Dig into Reading,” teens will go “Below the Surface,” and adults will find “Groundbreaking Reads.”

This year’s summer reading theme is “Dig into Reading!” and we’ve got plenty of programs for our young readers to dig into, from creatures that dig to digging for fossils to digging in the dirt. Plus, if you sign up for the summer reading program, you’ll get prizes all summer just for reading, something you like to do anyway!

Important dates for kids:
June 1: Registration begins! Come in to any branch to sign up!
June 29: First free book giveaway
July 27: Second free book giveaway
July 31: Summer Reading Party at Lee
August 25: Last day of Summer Reading

Teens

Come join our summer reading club "Below the Surface" June 1 - August 14! Sign up anytime this summer to receive your reading log. The first book you read gets you a prize. Each visit after that gets you into the weekly raffle, with drawings Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. in our teen room. Be sure to get your reading log stamped during your visit, and attend our  teen summer reading programs!

Adults

Grown-ups have a summer reading program, too! Join us this summer for our adult summer reading program, “Groundbreaking Reads,” running from June 1 through August 3.

There will be weekly drawings at each branch and a grand prize drawing for an eReader on August 9. Complete an entry form for every book you read this summer and deposit it in the entry form box at any branch. Good luck and happy reading!
