Me Talk Pretty One Day and Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris
Actually, anything by David Sedaris. I started reading him in high school, and he’s hilarious. It feels like cheating to make a comedian author’s books– two of them– the “makes me laugh” answer, but I can’t remember laughing out loud to any other books more than his. Me Talk Pretty One Day was my first Sedaris; it’s probably his most well-known and serves as a great introduction to his writing. I also highly recommend reading Holidays on Ice around Christmastime— it highlights all the absurdities of the season, and will make you laugh so hard your stomach hurts.
