In their powerful novel All American Boys, authors Brendan Kiely and Jason Reynolds explore police brutality, racism, and how being a teen in America can look very different depending on your point of view.
Local teens are invited to submit a poem or short essay about this topic, and / or inspired by the book All American Boys.
Entries must be received by Friday, Sept. 21 at 5 p.m.
Judges will select one winner, who will receive two front-row seats to the authors’ event on Tuesday, Oct 2, and will have their piece printed in the event program.
Poems and essays can be dropped off in the Lee Road Teen Room, or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
