BE EXCITED for these books coming out in 2015

Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver (March 10th)

Yeah, I know, I’m cheating– this one already came out. I haven’t read it yet, but I’m looking forward to it. E. Lockhart’s blurb on the front says, “Read it with all the lights on,” which is enough to intrigue me. Put it on hold and read along with me!

Hold Me Closer by David Levithan (March 17th)

Have you read Will Grayson, Will Grayson? Good. So you know why you should be putting this book on hold immediately. Great friendships; over-the-top, flawed personalities; and drama, drama, drama– all great reasons to read this book/musical! Reserve your copy here.

Black Dove, White Raven by Elizabeth Wein (March 31st)

You may be thinking, “Oh, another historical book about pilots? Yawn,” to which I reply with the age-old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I’m certain Elizabeth Wein will be ripping my heart out (again) with her story about this interracial family living in Ethiopia in the 1930s. It just came out– you can put it on hold here.

All the Rage by Courtney Summers (April 14th)

I have yet to read anything by Courtney Summers, but I think this one sounds promising– and extremely relevant. It doesn’t come out for a couple weeks, but you can read more about it and put it on hold here.

Royal Wedding by Meg Cabot (June 2nd)

GUYS. Princess Mia is getting married! Oh, man. The Princess Diaries is celebrating its 15-year anniversary (what?!) and Meg Cabot is gracing us with one more book. The series is hilarious, and I am so looking forward to reading our Mia all grown up. The book doesn’t come out until June, but you can already put it on hold here!

Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella (June 9th)

Sophie Kinsella wrote the Shopaholic series (find the first one here), and this is her first foray into YA. Dealing with topics like social anxiety and gaming, I think this novel will be interesting to say the least. It’s not in our system yet, but keep checking back– it should be soon EDIT: You can now put it on hold!

The Last Star by Rick Yancey (September 8th EDIT: May 17th, 2016)

(I don’t think this is the real cover, by the way– just a placeholder.) This is the third and final book in The 5th Wave series (books 1, 2)– the second was on my list last year, and it proved to be pretty good, but definitely a “middle” book; it felt like a bridge between the first book and what will (hopefully) be a great conclusion. In other exciting news, The 5th Wave is being made into a movie! It’s coming out next year.

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater (September 29th EDIT: March 1st, 2016 [so sad])

(This cover is also a placeholder; I’ll try to replace these with the real covers when they are released.) If you’ve followed my blogging at all, you probably know I’m a huge fan of Maggie Stiefvater. This is the fourth and final book in The Raven Boys series (books 1, 2, 3), and I am SO EXCITED for the culmination– but also I don’t want it to end! I’m sure you understand.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (October 6th)

(It’s totally obvious that this is a fan-made placeholder cover. But it’s nice nonetheless. EDIT: This is the actual cover!) If you haven’t read Rowell’s Fangirl, you should pick that up before you read any more of this post. Okay, now that you’re fangirling over Fangirl, let me give you the best news of your life: That fiction-within-fiction, Harry-Potter-esque series featured? Rainbow Rowell is actually writing it. Or at least one book set in that world. This is Rowell’s first stab at fantasy, and if her “excerpts” from Fangirl are anything to go by, I think it’s going to be really, really good.

Did I miss any? Tell me what books you’re excited to read this year! My list from spring of last year is here.
