BUZZZZZZ! BUZZZZZ! What’s that sound? The sound of happy bees flying around!
Today we buzzed around the beehive and read books about busy bees and sticky sweet honey.
Our first book was Jam & Honey, by Melita Morales
After a few songs, rhymes and finger plays went on to read The Very Greedy Bee, by Steve Smallman
For our craft, we made beehives out of small paper cups and bee stick puppets. Here’s a few photos of the finished product!
Rhymes/Fingerplays
Bees
Here is the beehive. Where are the bees?
Hidden away where nobody sees.
Soon they will come, creeping out from the hive;
One, two, three, four, five!
Five Little Bee
One little bee blew and flew.
He met a friend, and that made two.
Two little bees, busy as could be–
Along came another and that made three.
Three little bees, wanted one more,
Found one soon and that made four.
Four little bees, going to the hive.
Spied their little brother, and that made five.
Five little bees working every hour–
Buzz away, bees, and find another flower.
