Here on the blog the other Matchmakers and I share what we are reading, watching, or listening to quite frequently, but we don’t often hear from our other staff members all over the library system. Now, we will be sharing interviews from other staff members so that you the reader can see what we’re reading/watching/listening to all over the Heights Library system!

This interview comes from Shipping Assistant Joe!

Read

What book are you reading at the moment? What are your thoughts on it?

I just finished reading an article from ESPN the magazine about a professional gamer from Korea that goes by the handle “Faker”

What kind of books do you typically read?

I’m more of a movie person, sci-fi/action is my favorite genre. I like a movie that makes me think, but that also looks amazing, and have some action in it.

Have you ever pretended to have read a book? If so, which one and why?

If I did it would have been long ago for school or something. I don’t think I have ever actually done it though.

Watch

Which do you prefer: movies or television?

Usually movies, but the best thing I have ever seen is probably True Detective season 1.

Have you ever binge-watched a show? If so, what was it?

Many times… The Office (American Version) – All seasons binged watched in a row, True Detective season 1, Doctor Who (Original BBC), Breaking Bad – All seasons binged watched in a row, Dexter – All… just to name a few.

Listen

What kind of music do you enjoy?

A little bit of everything, Currently I have been on a Beastie Boys kick for over 3 months.

Have you found any new or new-to-you artists/bands lately?

Not lately, the last band that I discovered on my own was  the Yeah Yeah Yeahs over a decade ago.

Do you listen to different music based on the seasons?

Maybe, I never thought about, I just listen to whatever suits my fancy at the time.

Anything else you’d like to add?

I just remembered… I just watched (binged) OJ: Made in America. My heart sank as soon as episode 1 started and I saw that it was made by ESPN. I thought that this would mean everything would be biased in OJ’s favor as OJ is a former sports hero. I couldn’t have been more wrong. Many of the people interviewed were incredibly biased, but the filmmakers were not, and let the viewer come to their own conclusions. Turned out to be one of the best documentaries I have ever seen!

Thanks Joe!
