Social media sites can appeal to a wide range of people, such as Facebook or Twitter, or center on a single interest, such as the knitting and crocheting site Ravelry.com. The idea of social media to be share!

Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerburg in 2004. Originally just for college students, now anyone over 13 can have a Facebook account – and over 1.5 billion people do! Facebook is primarily used to connect with friends and family. Facebook users are able to choose who can see what they post. Friends must be approved, so not just anyone can see pictures of your kids or where you went to high school.
