Here at the HKIC we try to offer the very best in computer software and classes. A part of our program is the Multimedia Lab, which is stocked with professional grade software and equipment. The lab is the only location of its kind in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights area.

The room includes an Apple computer, equipped with two monitors, and a wide range of photo, video, audio, and web design software.

  • Garage Band
  • iMovie

In addition to the computer , there are two compressor microphones and a Midi (piano) keyboard in the room.

 

 

The Multimedia Lab also offers a Nikon Coolpix camera and a Bamboo Pad Tablet, available to be used when working in the lab.

 

New Media Lab Orientation classes will be held this summer on the following dates and times:

  • Tuesday, July 14, 7 pm
  • Wednesday, July 22, 11 am
  • Tuesday, August 25, 7 pm

The Media Lab Orientation class will introduce the software and equipment, walk customers through the process of reservations, and discuss procedures.

To make a reservation to use the media lab please call the HKIC or see a staff member in person at the front desk. Reservations can be made for up to 4 hours at a time, 3 times a week. Openings for reservations begin two weeks in advance. The only exception being Thursdays, when media lab use is allowed on a first come first serve basis. Thursday media lab appointments are two hour blocks of time.

  1. Hello! Does HKIC have a microfilm reader, preferably with scanning or printing functions? Thank you!

    The HKIC is not the home of the microflim reader. That machine is located in the reference section of the library. The current machine does have the ability to print but at the moment it cannot scan.
