In the 1950s, Library Director Miss Nell Lynch noticed a drop in circulation, and believed the culprit was television. However, she wasn’t worried, because she thought that television would make customers want to read even more. This was seen with children requesting more western and cowboy stories, which children’s supervisor Miss Connelly believed was because of the popular tv series Lone Ranger and Hopalong Cassidy!
