Fall is a glorious time of year for so many reasons: changing leaves, comfy sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes (in my case hot cocoa), scarves, school supplies, boots…I could go on and on. This year I’m also excited about all of the new albums that are coming out. The Newport Folk Festival provided me with the opportunity to hear some of these artists’ new songs (Ryan Adams, Jenny Lewis, and Hozier) and I came away from those sets in awe of their talent.
The highly anticipated new album from Alt-J is finally being released this week and I can’t wait to give it a listen, but there’s so much more to lose yourself in. Below is my list of new albums. Click on any (or all) of the links and you can instantly put yourself on hold for them too. And the best part is that some of the artists/bands are on their way to Cleveland soon!
- Alt-J – This is All Yours
- Bleachers – Strange Desire
- Hozier – Hozier
- Jenny Lewis – The Voyager
- Lights – Little Machines
- Mary Lambert – Heart on My Sleeve
- Ok Go – 180/365: They will be at the Beachland in October.
- Paloma Faith – A Perfect Contradiction
- Perfume Genius – Too Bright (coming soon; in the meantime check out: Put Your Back In 2 It)
- Ryan Adams – Ryan Adams: He’s going to be at the State Theatre in November.
- Run River North – Run River North: They are going to be at the Beachland Tavern in October and Oldboy (a fantastic local band) will be opening for them. You can check out their album here: Oldboy – Covered in Sound
- Vance Joy – Dream Your Life Away
- The Wind and the Wave – From the Wreckage
Until next time, happy listening!
