Don’t get me wrong, I think traditional classical music is amazing. The famous composers as well as the orchestras, symphonies, and soloists who have performed their pieces over the centuries are (in my opinion) some of the some of the most talented people on the planet.
But there is a whole world of “classical” music beyond Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Bach, and the like. Music that is beautiful and breathtaking and tremendous in its own right. As such, I thought I would spotlight some of the music being created by a number of the 19th century’s great composers and the contemporary musicians who are reinterpreting the archetypal composers.
Here’s a list to get you started. All of these are available through our library catalog. Give some of them a try today!
