Today we did something a bit different: a storytime about playtime that incorporated both free play and art at the end.
Books:
“Everything to Spend the Night” by Ann Whitford Paul
“Too Princessy!” by Jean Reidy
“Dog Wants to Play” by Christine McDonnell

For music we used the songs “Silly Dance Contest” by Jim Gill and “The Hokey Pokey” from the CD “Songs for Wiggleworms.”
I gave the kids a choice of activities to engage in after storytime. They could play with blocks, Duplos, and puppets, or make a picture with stickers, markers, and construction paper. Most kids chose to do both.
