Summer Reading 2020: Spark Your Creativity!

You didn’t think we were going to cancel Summer Reading, did you? No way! We’ve just moved it online! Kids and grown-ups alike can have fun and win great prizes, all while doing something they love: Reading!

The restrictions on our lives due to the COVID-19 pandemic have us ALL thinking creatively as we adapt to the changes we’re going through. That makes this year’s theme, Spark Your Creativity, so timely!

Extended through August 29!

We’re using Beanstack software for our Summer Reading program for preschoolers, school-age kids, and teens. As they read books and engage in the activities, they’ll be eligible to unlock badges and win lots of fun prizes like gift cards, Lego sets, Beats by Dre headphones, and more!

Adults have a program in Beanstack, too! They can earn raffle tickets for each book they read and review, and can also earn badges. Prizes include Kindle Fires and Roku streaming devices. Woohoo!

How do I Start?

Beanstack is easy to use and available both online and as a mobile app. Kids and adults can get started by visiting our Heights Libraries Beanstack website to create their account. They can also register through the app (find out how under “Get the App”).

You do not need to have a library card to sign up for and use Beanstack. The app allows for everyone, even those without cards, to register and participate in challenges! Choose how you would like to register (as an individual, registering a child, registering a family or group) and then complete all required fields (marked with *) in the online form.

Once registered, you can access your account online or in the app by signing in with your username and password.

Get the App
Click the links below to find the free app in your Apple App or Google Play store under the name “Beanstack Tracker” and select “Get” or “Install.”

Once downloaded, open the app and follow the simple step-by-step prompts to create an account for yourself, your child, or your family/group. If you’ve already created your account through the website, you can skip this step and just sign in to your existing account with your registered username and password.

Registering on the website vs. through the App: Since the app does not use our direct website link, the first prompt in creating your account is selecting “Find Your School or Library” and entering “Heights Libraries” in the search option. Otherwise the process is the same as registering on the website. All fields are required except for phone number.

If at any time you need help with Beanstack, please visit their Helpdesk and type in your question. If you can’t find your answer there, our Youth  staff would be happy to assist you!
