September 25 – October 2 is officially Banned Books week 2010.
Each year new books are challenged and/or banned across the country for reasons such as language, sexual content, violence, and many more. Many of them you may be pretty familiar with: The Catcher in the Rye, Harry Potter… the Dictionary. Check out what’s been banned/challenged for 2009-2010: Banned Books Week

Catcher In The Rye, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies…some of my favorites were (maybe still are by some) considered too dangerous for public consumption.
