Think For Yourself!

September 25 – October 2 is officially Banned Books week 2010.

Each year new books are challenged and/or banned across the country for reasons such as language, sexual content, violence, and many more.  Many of them you may be pretty familiar with:  The Catcher in the Rye, Harry Potter… the Dictionary.  Check out what’s been banned/challenged for 2009-2010:  Banned Books Week

What do you think about banning books?  Is censorship a good thing?  A bad thing?  A little of both?  Can people decide what they want to read on their own or should someone decide for them?  We’d love to hear your thoughts!

  1. Catcher In The Rye, Animal Farm, Lord of the Flies…some of my favorites were (maybe still are by some) considered too dangerous for public consumption.
