As one of the library’s Tech Trainer I get asked many questions about software and software instillation.
The best word of advice I can give is this:
Read the instillation manual before trying to install new software on your computer.
Let me say that again Read the instillation manual before you install. Or as computer techs say RTFM (Read The Fine Manual).
This will solve over 90% of instillation issues if you read and follow the directions carefully. Also before installing new software makes sure your computer meets the manufactures computing requirements. i.e. you have enough memory, disk space and processor speed for the software.
If you follow this you will have a lot less headache and heartburn when adding new software.
