Branch Manager – Noble Neighborhood Branch
The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library is seeking a motivated and experienced Branch Manager for our newly renovated Noble Neighborhood Branch. This role is crucial for ensuring the branch’s operations run smoothly, providing excellent customer service, and fostering community engagement.
Position Overview
The Branch Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Noble Neighborhood Branch. Responsibilities include managing staff, ensuring high customer service standards, and implementing programs and services that align with the Library’s mission and long-range plans. The successful candidate will handle employee scheduling, conflict resolution, and work activity oversight while maintaining a focus on service delivery and community outreach. This branch offers a maker space, technology training, and serves a large population of children from the nearby schools.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution preferred, or equivalent experience in library management.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a public library setting, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily branch operations, including staff scheduling, conflict resolution, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Program and Service Evaluation: Assess and revise branch programs, services, and policies to align with the Library’s mission and long-term objectives.
- Staff Supervision: Train, supervise, and evaluate branch staff, including assigning tasks, providing orientation for new employees, and conducting performance reviews.
- Community Engagement: Promote the library’s services and engage with the community to enhance visibility and support.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in the formulation of policy recommendations and procedures for public services, ensuring adherence to these standards.
- Material Management: Collaborate with the Collections Manager to maintain the relevance and freshness of the branch collection.
- Training and Digital Literacy: Oversee training for staff and patrons on digital tools and resources.
- Committee Participation: Attend management meetings, chair and participate in committees as needed, and contribute to system-wide initiatives.
- Record Keeping and Evaluation: Supervise the maintenance of records and statistics to measure branch effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

Salary
Starting at $53,456, with a midpoint of $66,830. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.
