Security Officer
The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library System seeks a person to ensure the safety and security of customers, staff, materials and equipment. All of our five buildings are active community gathering places and require someone with a positive attitude and a calm demeanor. Security staff post and patrol library buildings and grounds to seek out and resolve safety issues and enforce code of conduct to maintain a welcoming library atmosphere for all. They may also assist with minor custodial duties as needed.
Requirements
This is a part-time position and requires a combination of afterschool, evening, and some weekend hours.
High School diploma or equivalent combination of similar work experience and training. Two years of experience preferred. OPATA and/or Safety Certification desirable. Excellent communication skills and ability to use office technology such as email and other security software applications. Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with leadership, peers, customers, students and parents.
Successful applicant must treat all people with respect and be able to stand for extended periods.
Applicants must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug testing as part of the pre-employment process. Compliance with these requirements is mandatory for hire.
