Security Officer
The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library System has a job opportunity for a full time Security Officer to be primarily headquartered at our Noble Neighborhood Branch. This position will be the primary security presence for the branch, working closely with the Safety and Security Manager. They will be responsible for maintaining the safety of customers, staff, materials and equipment, through vigilant security practices. All of our five buildings are active community gathering places and require someone with a calm demeanor and tactful approach. Security staff patrol the library building and grounds. They may also assist with minor custodial duties as needed.
Additional duties to be included: Address behavioral incidents, maintain records, establish good practices for security camera system, liaison to Noble Elementary and security.
Requirements
This is a part-time position and requires a combination of afterschool, evening, and some weekend hours.
High School diploma or equivalent combination of similar work experience and training. Two years of experience preferred. OPATA and/or Safety Certification desirable. Excellent communication skills and ability to use office technology such as email and other security software applications. Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with leadership, peers, customers, students and parents.
