Need some reading recommendations to kick off your summer reading? Check out the most popular titles from our 2022 Adult Summer Reading Program and see what our Summer Readers had to say about them:

  • Guest List by Lucy Foley
Summer Reader, H.H. said, “This is a fun melodrama with gorgeous descriptive writing that drags you into the scenery.”
M.M. said, “Very Agatha Christie-esq! The dual goal is to figure out who the murderer is and who died.”
  • The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley
B.S. said, “I listened to The Paris Apartment on audiobook. I loved the different voices for each person and how it switched point of view. Every time I thought I had figured it out, she added a slight twist. Would definitely recommend.”
  • Beach Read by Emily Henry
E.M. said, “A fun, engaging read. Something light and easy, the type of book I like to classify as ‘brain candy’.”
  • Book Lovers by Emily Henry
M.W. said, “Very fun romance. Emily Henry does a great job of balancing romance tropes with more serious themes.”
M.C. said, “A good summer read about a literary agent who lives a fast-paced city life and spends a month in the country with her sister. A relatively quick read, and I enjoyed the characters — city and country types alike.”
  • Hotel Nantucket by Elin Hilderbrand
E.H. said, “Loved this! Quirky characters with hidden agendas to keep you guessing throughout the book. Didn’t want to put it down.”
  • Circe by Madeline Miller
D.H. said, “This was a really interesting book in the vein of Wicked — telling the story and motivations behind the minor Greek goddess Circe who was famously in the Odyssey and turned Odysseus’ men into pigs. If you’re interested in Greek mythology this is really interesting!”
E.M. said, “A very approachable version of the myth of Circe. Fast paced and captivating!”
  • Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
E.F. said, “This book is marketed as a coming-of-age story, a murder mystery, and a celebration of nature, but in reality, it is a tragedy that contains those other genres as merely small elements of the story. I still haven’t shaken the sadness.”
  • The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager
E.A. said, “Riley Sager’s latest has a truly unbelievable twist. Nothing if not entertaining.”
  • Verity by Colleen Hoover
E.V. said, “I haven’t devoured a book like I did this one in a long time. From the moment Lowen and Jeremy met I needed to see where their story brought them. After Lowen moves into the Crawford home and discovers Verity’s manuscript, this novel becomes disturbing at every turn and impossible to put down. The ending did not disappoint and left me wanting 300 more pages to read!”
