Read, renew, repeat with the 2024 Adult Summer Reading program!
Summer Reading is going green, with less paper but all the same fun. Log your reading, earn raffle tickets, and enter prize drawings right from your device. Register at heightslibrary.beanstack.org to join the challenge or download the Beanstack app, available for iOS and Android (site name: “Heights Libraries OH”).
Between June 1 and August 10, participate by reading whatever you like (audiobooks count too), writing reviews, and attending programs. Earn chances to win an Apple iPad and weekly prizes, including gift cards to neighborhood businesses, and earn tickets for our end-of-summer raffle drawings, with six prizes to choose from!
Read whatever you like, but if you’re looking for suggestions, check out some of the most popular titles from our 2023 Adult Summer Reading Program and see what our Summer Readers had to say about them:
Lady Susan by Jane Austen: A.B. said, “A lovely epistolary novella with an absolutely despicable title character. It’s fun to see the inner thoughts of characters who are working with and against each other and see how they interpret and portray events to ‘off-screen’ characters.”
Happy Place by Emily Henry: A.D. said, “So Cute! Nothing better than two people with awful communication trying to be friends.”
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus: L.H. said, “Thoroughly enjoyed this book! An unblinking and entertaining look at life as a female scientist. At times uncomfortable (due to acknowledgement of the often horrific things women are subject to as we try to make our way in male-dominated careers), the humor and vivid characters kept me engaged.”
Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros: A.H.F. said, “Fantasy, romance, thrill, this book has them all! This book kept me on the edge of my seat and praying my favorite characters would stay alive!! Wild ride.”
Yellow Face by R.F. Kuang: S.L. said, “A really great read and important discussion about stories and who they belong to.”
Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes: M.K. said, “Very enjoyable feel good book, reminds me of Nicholas Sparks.”
Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood: A.D. said, “I’ve loved all of Ali Hazelwood’s books. Even though it’s Romance, she still gives the characters a lot of depth. I also love that she focuses on women in STEM.”
