The best thing anyone looking to keep up with new technology or trends in the technology world is to stay up to date with the major events. There are many releases of products but there are about nine events spread out through the calendar year that make up the majority of technology news.
Consumer Electronics Show – January – This trade show is organized by the Consumer Technology Association and typically hosts presentations of new products and technologies in the consumer electronics industry.
MWC Barcelona – February – MWC Barcelona (formerly Mobile World Congress) is the largest mobile event in the world, bringing together the latest innovations and leading-edge technology from more than 2,400 leading companies
SXSW – March – Featuring a variety of tracks that allow attendees to explore what’s next in the worlds of film, culture, music, and technology, SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together.
Google I/O – May – Google I/O is an annual developer conference held by Google in Mountain View, California. “I/O” stands for input/output, as well as the slogan “Innovation in the Open”; hands-on experience with Google’s latest product and platform innovations.
WWDC – June – The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is a conference held annually by Apple Inc. in San Jose, California. Apple uses the event to showcase its new software and technologies for software developers.
E3 – June (Gaming) – The Electronic Entertainment Expo, commonly referred to as E3, is a premier trade event for the video game industry.
IFA – September – IFA is the world’s leading trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances; held in September in Berlin, Germany
Apple – September – Apple typically holds an event in September about the next generation of iPhones and other hardware.
Google – October – Google typically holds an event in October about the next generation of smartphones and other hardware.
