This spring the library is saluting classic films with many interesting programs, from screenings to live music, and local experts. However, you don’t have to leave your home to get classic films. Streaming services bring the theater to you!
Streaming is when a multimedia file (such as audio or video) can be played back without being completely downloaded first. Streaming media generally requires an internet connection to work.
Free Streaming Services from the Library
Hoopla is the library’s main streaming services for movies and television. Hoopla’s selection often includes movies and television that cannot be found on other streaming services, like Ken Burns Documentaries and TNT programming. There are also category options for searching that change by month like ‘Women’s History Month’ and ‘Oscar Winners and Nominees’.
To use Hoopla Click Here. Make an account with your email address and library card. Hoopla can also be used on devices with the Hoopla app.
Overdrive is the service most commonly used to check out ebooks from the library, but it also has a selection of movies and television! Videos can be streamed from a computer using emedia.clevnet.org. Overdrive can also be accessed on devices using the Overdrive or Libby apps.
Paid Streaming Services
Not finding what you are looking for with the free services? There are many paid streaming services out there with affordable options to get your movie fix. These services can be used on computers, devices, gaming consoles, and set top boxes.
