On Monday, October 28, CLEVNET will launch a new and improved library catalog experience to make finding library materials, resources, and events easier!
It’s called Aspen Discovery.
Give it a whirl here!
Why is CLEVNET switching to Aspen?
Aspen Discovery is simpler to use, and offers many advantages over our current catalog:
- The ability to search collections like Hoopla and Kanopy in addition to CLEVNET and Libby.
- The option to search for programs and events at Heights Libraries related to your catalog search.
- Filter search results by format, language, Accelerated Reader Level, and more.
- Search results displayed in groupings, making it easier to find your preferred formats
- Library staff-created Featured Lists you can explore.
- Create personal lists and save your favorite searches.
- Keep track of your borrowing history.
- Get reading recommendations and find read-alikes.
- Quickly find all of the books in a series.
- Explore ratings, reviews, author bios, and more!
Will my current account automatically transfer to the new catalog?
Yes! On October 28, you will need to enter your library card number and PIN to get started, but that’s it. Once in, you’ll see your account, with borrows, holds, lists, and more.
Will Aspen save my current lists?
Yes! If you have a list in the current CLEVNET catalog, you can still access it in Aspen Discovery by logging into your account and clicking the Your Lists link. CLEVNET will copy these lists on October 13, 2024. Please do not add additional titles to lists following this date, as changes made after October 13 will not be copied to the new catalog.
Can I still access other CLEVNET collections?
Yes! The new Aspen catalog has been adopted by CLEVNET, so you can still access the collections of CLEVNET’s other 47 libraries, over 11,000,000 items.
Can I see my borrowing history after the switch?
Yes! If you opted to Record Your Reading History in our previous catalog, you can still access it in Aspen Discovery by logging into your account and clicking the My Borrowing History link. My Borrowing History is a feature that allows you to voluntarily track items you check out. You may start or stop using it and delete any or all entries in your history at any time. If you enable the My Borrowing History feature, you agree to allow our automated system to store this data.
