Every children’s area in the Heights Libraries system offers an early literacy space to help develop early literacy skills for children ages 0-6 through play and materials that will fuel your child’s excitement for literacy and love of reading.
Children are welcome to read books on our cozy furniture, bake cookies in the kitchen, shop at the store, play with the dollhouse, put on a puppet show, or explore other toys designed to build literacy skills. While the space is designed for comfortable, relaxed play ,all visitors are expected to follow room use guidelines to maintain a welcoming and safe environment for all.
Groups
While public spaces in the children’s rooms cannot be reserved, daycare providers and preschool teachers may also use these spaces. If you are planning a group visit, please notify the Library in advance.
