Heights Libraries offers some amazing free resources and I hope that you have used them in the last few weeks. We’re all in slightly different situations right now, but I think everyone can benefit from the library’s free entertainment and education resources!
Here are some resources that you may not know about:
Apps and Streaming: Yes, most of our digital resources are available as apps on your smart phone or tablet! They are also compatible with streaming services like Roku, Chromecast and AppleTV. Go to the store on your device to download the app at no cost. Check out the Libby/Overdrive, Hoopla, Kanopy, and RBDigital Apps.
You may already know Hoopla for its streaming movies and TV shows, but did you know that it also offers access to music, graphic novels and comics?! Check it out at Hoopladigital.com
Hoopla Bonus Borrows: Hoopla is currently offering access to more than 1,000 top titles that do NOT count toward your monthly 10-item limit! Download as many as you like!
Kanopy: The Kanopy streaming service offers unlimited checkouts on kid’s content! Check it out here: https://heightslibrary.kanopy.com
Ancestry: Getting lost in a genealogy search is a great project and Ancestry is now available for free outside the library! This genealogy resource can be accessed from any computer with internet access. Check out Ancestry here.
Tumble Book Library: This is a new resource full of great materials for kids and teens. Whether you are just trying to provide entertainment or supplementing homeschooling efforts, Tumble Books is full of options.
The animated, narrated Math Stories, Children’s eBooks, eBooks and Videos for Teens, and AudioBooks are all great!

If you’re looking to learn something new, Lynda.com is truly the place to do it. Lynda provides you access to comprehensive video-based classes on subjects ranging tech, photography, coding and business. Lynda also has series of videos called Learning Paths that will help you become an expert on a subject such as Small Business Ownership. This is definitely not a resource to be missed!
