About the artist
Carrie Williams’ paintings are an eclectic mix spanning the natural to the fantastical, usually incorporating bright colors, bold textures, and evocative motion. Her work as a performer, director, writer, and teaching artist can be seen in theatres all over Northeast Ohio. She has been the Lead Scenic Artist for Talespinner Children’s Theatre since 2015, and is the Education Manager at Dobama Theatre, where she produces the Marilyn Bianchi Kids’ Playwriting Festival.
From the Artist
I started painting about six years ago as a form of therapy, and being mostly self-taught I just do what feels right in the moment. I am all about color and experimentation. Often I just let something erupt, and if I enjoy the result I share it. While my work includes watercolors, calligraphy, political posters, and three-dimensional multimedia projects, this collection is almost entirely abstracts in acrylic paint and ink. All of these were made between 2017 and 2019.
