Kwesiagyare, as he is known by his signature, is one of Ghana’s prominent artists. His experience with various forms of media and materials to create visual images on the dynamics of life in contemporary Ghana has received critical acclaim both locally and internationally.
He considers his training at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Ghanatta College of Art and Design as his defining stage that set him on his path to the art industry.
“Basically, my innovation and creativity is driven by things I see, my feelings, and trends in the art industry. I begin expressing my views and opinions through my colors. In these paintings, I showcase various themes that explore the reality of contemporary Ghana,” he says.
He has produced works that are now in the homes of private collectors, hotel lobbies, guest houses, and offices. He is one of Ghana’s most promising star contemporary artists.
His mixture of bold and cool vibrant colors that are interspersed with dark colors makes him unique. Traveling in and out to exhibitions transformed his work with the elegance, beauty, and delicate nature of human sign languages and the intercultural and social aspects of life through paintings of beautiful African symbols.
Kwesiagyare’s work will be on display in the Lee Road art gallery through September 13, 2019. He will host an opening for his gallery on Friday, September 6 at 6:30 p.m., during which he will do a live painting.
