Back in the Swing of Things

As we reach the end of September, most of us are settled back into our routines.  Friday night football, the leaves turning colors and sipping apple cider next to a warm fire.  Autumn represents a feeling of comfort, coziness and a return to the traditions of the season!  Here at the library that means the end of Summer Reading and the beginning of new programming, school visits and outreach to our many daycares and preschools.

Flying in the face of tradition, we are making changes!

  • Our Story Stop programs at Lee Rd have a new time.  Mondays are at 10 and 11 am.  Tuesdays are at 11 am.  Branch Story Stops will stay at the same time.
  • We have a new storytime called Kids In Harmony which invites young people and their caregivers to come explore stories through music and sound.
  • Our program Library Afterschool Fun (LAF) is adding two weekdays and will now be Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5 pm.  The two new days will include gaming and free-play with LEGOs and other activities.
  • We have a new library card design for children!  Come in to get yours today.  Getting a new card will require that your barcode be changed.

We hope you enjoy all these new changes we are making at Heights Libraries in the Youth Services Department.  As always, we welcome any suggestions.  To see our entire programming guide, just click here.
