Spring Flings! Part One…

After a long cold winter, the signs of Spring are popping up all around us! Thanks to daylight savings the sun is out past 7pm and actually provides some warmth. It’s the time of year for fresh starts and for trying new things. I have lots of interests beyond music and I thought it might be fun to share some of my latest Spring flings in case any of you are looking for some new TV shows and books to try.

But first (sorry I just can’t help myself), I have to highlight some new music that has recently found its way onto my running playlist or in my car stereo. A great song always seems to give me that extra incentive to keep running when all I want to do is take a break. And even if you’re not a runner, I think you’ll enjoy these tunes all the same. Click on the aritst to reserve a copy for yourself and/or on the link to sample some music.

Brandi CarlileThe Things I Regret is my favorite track on her latest album.

Ella Henderson – Everyone has heard Ghost, so let me recommend Pieces.

Imagine Dragons – Friction is a great song to run/workout to.

James Bay – Listen to Hold Back the River, I expect big things from him.

Mat Kearney Heartbreak Dreamer is from his latest album and it incorporates a reading of “Shake the Dust” by champion slam poet Anis Mojgani.

Michelle Chamuel – Runner up on the fourth season of The Voice, the title track Face the Fire would also be a good addition to any workout mix.

A couple more to check out: Hey Rosetta!, Chadwick Stokes, Shovels & Rope, and Andrew Combs.

Stay tuned…next week is all about the TV shows that I’ve been binge watching over the last couple of months!
