About the artist
Kathryn grew up in a family with many creative arts and craftsmen and received encouragement to pursue such things. As a young adult, she enjoyed the design process and using various mediums. Then came marriage and children, and art got somewhat sidelined for the many years of raising a large family. She started keeping an illustrated gratitude journal eight years ago, which opened the door to many creative pursuits.

The work that is presented here explores various connections: to divine love, to the created world, and to each other. I am attached to the process of wonder, curiosity, and exploration, and like how art fits into that. This passage from the poem “Sometimes” by Mary Oliver sums it up best:
Instructions for living a life:
Tell about it.
This work is my attempt at telling about it—
