Class 3.03: Opening Programs

A program or application is software that allows you to complete tasks. Microsoft Word is an application, as are Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Photoshop.

To open a program from the desktop:

  1. Double-click on the desktop icon.

To open a program from the Start Menu:

  1. Click on the Start (Windows) button on the left side of the taskbar.
  2. The Start Menu opens.
  3. Click on (All) Programs at the bottom of the Start Menu.
  4. Single-click on your desired application to open it.
